Smart Commute NTV is an award-winning, non-profit Transportation Management Association (TMA) committed to reducing traffic congestion, improving air quality and taking action on climate change. Smart Commute NTV encourages individuals to ‘Travel Smarter. Cleaner. Better.’ by considering alternatives to single occupancy vehicle commuting such as cycling, transit, carpooling, walking, and telecommuting.
Interested in Cycling to Campus?
Smart Commute NTV holds events for cyclists including a Bike to Work Day celebration to kick off Bike Month in June. Information and resources for commuting by bike can be found on the Smart Commute NTV website.
Find a carpool with Ride-matching System
Share the cost of parking and gas: find a carpool partner to York University using Smart Commute’s online tool. This free, easy-to-use, ride-matching system helps York University staff and students find a carpool partner. After you register your information on the site, you will instantly be given a list of matches for people commuting from within your neighbourhood.
Priority Carpool Parking
All registered members of York University’s Diamond Pool Program are eligible for a priority carpool parking permit through Smart Commute. This permit allows carpoolers to park in preferred locations close to building entrances and walkways in their designated lot. Click here for more information.
Emergency Ride Home
Smart Commute offers you an easier way to get home in the event of an emergency.
The Emergency Ride Home program reimburses carpoolers for the cost of transit, a taxi or rental vehicle in the event of an unforeseen emergency.
